If you have spent any time on our website or read through our Facebook posts, you have probably seen the phrase “Our Youth, Our Future”. This simple phrase is what we at Foundry Mentoring have built our organization on, and it is what drives us to provide youth a different mentoring experience - one in which they are given a voice and a purpose by the community around them. When businesses (big and small), other non-profits, and individuals band together to provide mentoring to our youth, they are building up a new generation of entrepreneurs, educators and benefactors.

This kind of community engagement isn't to hard to imagine for the people living in Northern Colorado. Over the last decade or more, this area has become known for the events and festivals that draw huge crowds and encourage people to interact with each other. If our community rallied around our youth with the same ardency that we do these events, our youth would be better equipped and supported than ever before - skills would be taught, relationships would be built and aspirations would be grown.
Creating a New Normal
In order to make this vision a reality, the team at Foundry Mentoring has identified three areas on which to focus our efforts: awareness, accessibility and providing a place to go.
As with any cause, making people more aware of the issues at hand and the need for change generates excitement and ultimately engagement. You can help us spread awareness about the importance of mentoring by sharing about Foundry Mentoring with everyone you know. This is the beginning of a revolution - and it begins right here with you. The more people we can get talking about our mission, the more inexpensive, accessible mentoring we can provide.
This is the beginning of a revolution - and it begins right here with you.
For too long, mentoring has been focused on youth who are deemed “at-risk” or “problems”. This type of segregation can be detrimental, not only to the youth who are told that they need “fixing”, but also to their peers who are left without the support and attention that they need. Foundry Mentoring wants to provide low-cost, easy-access mentoring to any young person that wants it. Consider volunteering your time and energy to become a mentor.
Finally, to bring this plan to complete fruition, we need to provide our youth a place to go. A place where they can find after-school activities, build mentoring relationships and find the inspiration needed to forge their future. This goal cannot be accomplished without financial support from people like you. Whether you decide to give one-time, choose to become a core-maker (our monthly giving partners), start your own fundraising platform to engage your friends and family, or want to be a business partner, please take a moment to consider how you can be a part of the change.
Our team continues to be amazed at the support and encouragement that we have been receiving regarding Foundry Mentoring. Thank you all so much for believing in us and in the power of mentoring. Keep an eye out for some upcoming ways to get involved!
