A Look Back
The last couple of months have been filled with a lot of excitement for our team. The beginning of August held two big events held two big that sapped a lot of our energy, but left us feeling encouraged and hopeful as we continue to see how we can fill a gap in youth services. Thank you so much to everyone who showed up to our fall event and to all who stopped by our booth at NewWestFest. It means so much to us that there are so many people who are as passionate about the youth of our community as we are.
What's Happening Now
Perhaps the biggest update that we have is that, in September, we were officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization by the IRS. This has huge implications as we continue to build relationships with other organizations and businesses in the area, and, for our donors, this means that all donations to Foundry Mentoring, whether given previously or in the future, are completely tax deductible. This was a huge victory for our team as it took a lot of time and other resources to put together the application.
We are also excited to announce that Foundry Mentoring is a recipient of a grant from Mentor Colorado for 50 hours of technical assistance. This grant is focused on helping us research, develop and implement a strong mentoring program. This couldn't come at a better time as we are hoping to begin offering services to youth as early as Spring, 2017.
This is just a small glimpse into what has been going on with our team. We will continue to update you moving forward. Thank you for your continued support of our organization. Don't forget that there are plenty of ways that you can get involved with the Foundry. Thanks for reading!
